Our primary contact with the school is through the detention program although we also offer other programs. We seek to work with the many spheres influencing a young person’s life, from parents to teachers to schools to youth workers, aiming to transform the entire youth environment.<br /></span><br /><span style="font-family:arial;"><br />At the heart of 121@VMA is a desire to build meaningful relationships with young people that will act as catalysts for life transformation. <br /><br />We believe that this life transformation is primarily possible through a living relationship with Jesus Christ and thus seek to introduce Him to young people.<br /><br />Our emphasis is on transforming the vision, mind and attitude of young people for lasting, sustainable change. We do this through empowering young people to make good choices in spite of challenging circumstances. Having worked in the corporate world for many years she felt the strong call to get more involved in community work. This led to her starting up 121@ VMA where she keeps the rest of us in line!<br /><br /><strong>Ian Stuart</strong> is pastor of the Pretoria North Baptist church. He is involved in every part of 121@ VMA from guiding us with his wise council, to daily decision making, to sorting out technical hitches, to facilitating with the detention program.<br /><br /><strong>Cori Wielenga</strong> is involved with all the day-to-day runnings of 121. Apart from facilitating detention, she develops much of the material for the detention program. She is currently working on her doctorate in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies.<br /><br /><strong>Jacques Louw </strong>is youth pastor at Rietfontein Baptist church. He has a tremendous passion for youth and is involved in various ministry activites aimed at high schools.<br /><br /><strong>Ian Dewbury </strong>is an ordained pastor for the Reformed church. He is currently completing potgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria.
